Corner View: Holiday

This is my first corner view.
The idea of Jane is so great! I am really happy to participate.

David and I are a mixed couple. We do celebrate most of the Jewish holidays but the only Catholic holiday we really celebrate is Christmas.
At this time of the year, I usually have long talks with Solal about his two different cultures. I want him to be aware of his mixed origins and of the richness of them.

C'est une grande richesse cette double "culture" !!! Quelle chance... alors, bienvenue dans le corner ; ) Bises et bonne semaine à toi !

It is enriching to have a bicultural background!

I agree Elisabelle, it's good to share both cultures.

My daughter is Australian, her husband is German. My son in law speaks to his son in German, my daughter speaks in English.

At two years of age their son, my grandson understands both languages. It's wonderful.

The more cultures the better, we celebrate a variety of holidays to remember and enjoy the cultures that have made up our family. The only downside is that sometimes too much food is involved.

i guess you get the best of both worlds :) i'm playing along for the first time too, isn't this fun?

As my family has lived all over the place we celebrate almost everything possible, old St. Nick, St. Nick, Christmas, New Year's, Old Christmas, Old New Year's. Epiphany, etc. I think it's great giving kids the opportunity to learn about different traditions and cultures.
