July 29

I won't let this weather tell me that it's not summer! We are having cocktails and stuffed peppers like we should in summer. Non mais....
By the way , the first two were taken at the same time than these ones but with the Minolta and a roll of Ektar 100. it's amazing to see the difference. Which tones do you prefer? I have to say that I have a big crush on Ektar.

I am so happy, because we started again our collaboration with Marie*: there is a new post at colors of the week.

Belleville

Je dégaine aussi vite que Lucky Luke quand je vois un tout petit rayon de soleil.
Pour voir du "vrai" soleil, faut aller faire un tour chez Marion aujourd'hui!

The last diptychs are on Treize. Marie and I have another photo collaboration in mind: stay tuned!

Color

I decided that la mère et l'enfant series had to be in black and white. But on that day, I had a color film in my Pentax. So I finished the roll first.

The ring you see on the second photo is one of Alma's brimborions. It is so beautiful. I can't wait to have my own.

I just discovered this blog and I am loving it.

November 29

You know what? I got everything done...When I came back home on Friday, I was frantic and wanted to do everything straightaway. After a lot of sports and efforts, this first diner ended up by a pizza party (Merci Anne et Thomas: c'est promis la prochaine fois je vous prépare un petit menu mitonné d'enfer;))

It was great to wake up Saturday morning in a brand new home. Solal's bedroom is so much better: he has much more space and can enjoy the window light at his desk. He is probably going to spend much more time at it now... So far, school has been really easy for him and some time even a bit boring. On Friday, he will move to the upper level. I think it was the right thing to do, so did the teachers. He is proud (so am I) and a little anxious too.

The rest of the weekend was swell. The brunch became a huge brainstorming with my partner in crime about future photo collaborations (more to come). And the yesterday diner was "très arrosé"!

Thoughts on Las Vegas

Views from sunrise to sunset.
The first photo was our bedroom view.

I never figured I would visit Las Vegas someday.
When Solal mentioned that he would like to go there during our trip, I was so surprised. I first replied: "No way!".
But a friend convinced me that Le Cirque du Soleil shows (we went to see "O") and the Grand Canyon were worth to see.

Las Vegas represents the opposite I am usually drawn to (no offense Hannah!): gambling, money, artificial reproductions.

But I can honestly say that I am really happy I have seen it: it is a such unique experience. It doesn't look or feel like any place else.

On a side note, we began a new blog with Marie, my partner in crime when it comes to photos. It will last only during our trip. We take a photo at the same time each day with 9 hours of time difference. If you want to have a look: here it is.

Audrey

You know what? It is kind of difficult to get used to the 50mm again, I had issues with the light/exposition yesterday taking photos of the so beautiful Audrey. More photos here.

To reply to Jacilyn, I am using a Canon EOS 40D and 3 Canon lenses: a 50mm/1.4, a 18-135mm and a macro 60mm/2.8 (which happened to be great for portraits too).

My friend and Colors of the Week accomplice, Marie, just started a Flickr photostream: check it out!

Colors

Just a quick note, to let you know that Colors of the week is back.
Marie* had, and still has, computer issues, but she managed to send me the first images and hopefully she will send some more my way tomorrow.
I love to compose our diptychs, to discover marie*'s photo and to see how it works with mine.
Here is my favorite of this new batch:
